B.M.S College of Engineering is also hailed as one of the best colleges in Bangalore. Established in 1946, BMSCE is an autonomous college which is situated in the Basvangudi region of Bangalore and it was one of the very first initiatives in the field of technical education in India. Run by BMS trust, it was affiliated to VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) from 1998 to 2008 and has been autonomous since then.

Ramaiah Institute of Technology
Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT), formerly known as MSRIT is a private engineering college located in Bangalore. Established in 1962 by late M.S. Ramaiah, RIT is an autonomous institute which is affiliated to VTU ( Visvesvaraya Technological University). It is perhaps the only institute in Bangalore to have been autonomous for both postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
