State Bank of India is going to conduct SBI SO 2018 during January 2018. The SBI SO 2018 Selection Procedure will be a multi-step process coordinated by the SBI. As witnessed over the years, the exam will be conducted on a national level for the purpose of recruitment of Specialist Officers. This article shall provide the aspiring candidates an insight into the process which is responsible for the selection of a few hundred successful candidates at the end of the exam period.
SBI conducts the online exam for selection to the various posts like Assistant managers, developers, test lead, tester, manager, officers, architects, engineers, designers, administrators, analysts, innovation specialists and various other posts.
SBI SO 2018 Selection Procedure – Complete Details
The selection procedure adopted by the SBI SO 2018 exam will basically be a four-stage process. The following gives the stage-wise explanation:
Online exam stage
This exam will be consisting of at least 3 MCQ based papers viz. Language (Hindi and/or English), Reasoning and Professional Knowledge for each post that is to be conducted during January 2018. The pattern will be different for each of the following posts:
- Systems, CA and Engineering Officers
- Law Officers
- Official Language Officers
Group Discussion stage
This is the second stage where candidates are divided into groups of 10 or so and required to speak up on a given topic within a fixed time period.
The third stage i.e. the interview is going to be held after the declaration of cutoff-based merit list. This is regarded as the most significant stage where one gets critically judged by panelists and experts. To qualify for the interview, one must score the cutoff in Professional Knowledge paper and qualifying marks in other papers.
Final Merit list
The marks are arranged in decreasing order and the final stage of the selection is set after conducting all the above stages.
Note that the qualifying marks for each stage will be decided by the State Bank of India. In case of a tie between two candidates, a merit list according to decreasing order of age will be prepared for final selection.
Finally, candidates are asked to produce some originals at the time of document verification stage:
- Copy of one id proof
- Proof of Date of Birth
- Educational Certificates e.g. Mark-Sheets or Degree Certificate
- Experience certificates
- Brief resume of the candidate
- E-Receipt for SBI SO 2018 fee payment
- Copy of a valid OBC/SC/ST certificate (if applicable)
