RBI Assistant Nationality Requirement

Let us start with the nationality requirements. To appear for RBI Assistant 2018, you need to be a citizen of India. Therefore, Non-Resident Indians from foreign countries are not eligible to appear for the exam.

RBI Assistant Age Limit

Next, we would be taking a look at the RBI Assistant Age Limit. According to the official sources, the candidate should meet the following age limits.

  • You should be of 20 years old but not more than 28 years old at the time of registration. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/10/1990 and not later than 01/10/1998 (both days including) are only eligible to apply.
  • Reserved category students can claim age relaxation. Applicants belonging to different categories are entitled to different age relaxation. The following table gives the details:

Educational Qualification for RBI Assistant

You need to fulfil the following educational qualifications to be eligible for applying for RBI Assistant 2018

  1. At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
  2. A candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category (except dependents of ex-servicemen) should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence services.
  3. Candidates applying for a post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/ any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

You just need to follow these simple steps to fill up your RBI Assistant Application Form.

  • STEP 1: Click on the link above.
  • STEP 2: You would be redirected to the official RBI Assistant Application. You need to fill up the details in the right fields.

RBI Assistant Selection Process 2018 – 2019

If you are looking to apply for RBI Assistant, then you should know about the RBI assistant selection procedure. The entire selection procedure contains the following stages:

As per the recruitments held previously, the selection is done through online examinations that will be followed by a language proficiency test in one’s local/official language.

  1. Online Preliminary Examination (Objective Test)
  2. Online Mains Examination (Objective Test)
  3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

The final selection was made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the online mains examination and LPT is only qualifying in nature. However, you should pass the LPT as you would not be considered eligible for recruitment as RBI Assistant.

RBI Recruitment Notification – Exam Pattern

Let us take a look at the exam pattern as they are mentioned in RBI Recruitment Notification. As said above, there are three stages in the exam – Prelims, Mains and LPT. The details of the exam pattern are given below:

The first stage is the prelims exam. This would be an online MCQ based test. You would get 1 marks for every right answer and for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks would be deducted from the score.

After you pass the prelims, you would be allowed to sit for the RBI Assistant Mains exam. As said before, the mains exam is the most important stage of the exam, as the marks you get would count towards your final selection. RBI Assistant Language Proficiency Test

LPT is the final stage of the exam. In LPT, you would be tested for your ability to understand, read and write the local language of the state that you are applying for. Please note that the RBI recognizes only one regional language for each state. For example, if you are applying for vacancies in Mumbai or anywhere else in Maharashtra, you would have to be proficient in Marathi, even though Hindi is widely understood by almost everyone in that state.

The pattern for Language Proficiency Test changes from year to year. You can expect the test to be any one of the following:

  • You would be given a passage in the regional language. You would have to read it aloud in front of an examiner.
  • The candidates might also be required to read a passage from a newspaper.
  • You would be given a Reading Comprehension test in the regional language.
