National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the NEET 2019 Cut off with the declaration of NEET result on June 5, 2019. The minimum marks for qualifying entrance exam is cutoff. The NEET cutoff 2019 candidates belonging to UR category have to score a minimum of 119/720 marks for qualification in NEET medical entrance exam. The OBC/SC/ST category candidates need a minimum of 96 marks to qualify NEET 2019 exam. NEET 2019 will take place on May 5, 2019, in a single window offline mode.

NEET 2019 Cut off (Minimum Qualifying Percentile)

Minimum qualifying percentile is defined as the minimum marks a candidate should obtain for clearing NEET 2019 entrance exam. NTA will use the percentile method for determining the NEET 2019 cut off. The percentile is calculated using the method given below:

Example: A candidate rank is 50 in NEET and the total number of students appeared were 6, 00,000.

The percentile calculation is : [600000-50)/600000] X 100 = 99.99

The NTA will release the minimum required percentile score for different categories. The 2018 minimum percentile score is a proper estimation of NEET 2019 cutoff scores.

The table has given above clearly shows that for qualification in NEET 2019 the unreserved or general candidate have to score either 50% or more, the unreserved PH candidate has to score 45% or more, and 40% or more for the other reserved category candidates.

Tie-Breaker Criteria NEET 2019 Cutoff

The tie-breaker method is the process established for the scenario when two candidates score the similar marks. The NEET merit list 2019 is prepared by using a tie-breaker method. The tie Breaker method have certain guidelines which the authorities follow for determining the final rank of the student and consideration of admissions

  1. Biology: Biology being the master of NEET 2019 have the maximum questions. The Candidate who obtains more marks in the Biology (Botany and Zoology) section is given preference.
  2. Chemistry: The second step in the process is to check the chemistry marks if the biology score is similar.
  3. Maximum Number of Wrong answers: To further break the tie, the candidate who made less mistake is given preference.
  4. Age: The older candidate is given preference if the tie persists.

Merit List for 15% All India Quota Counseling NEET 2019

The list of candidates who will successfully qualify the exam by securing the minimum NEET cut off 2019 for their respective categories will be in the 2019 merit list. NEET 2019 merit list will be forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the regulatory body for the counseling of 15% AIQ seats. DGHS will further forward the list fo candidates to the individual state counseling authorities.

NEET 2018 Cut off

NEET 2019 Counseling

Candidates will be able to participate in the counseling process according to their rank in the NEET exam from 2nd week of June 2019. NEET counseling 2019 for 15% AIQ seats will be organized by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and for 85% state quota seats will be organized by the respective state authority. Counseling for 15% AIQ seats is conducted in online mode and candidates have to fill their choices of colleges in the counseling process.
