To put it simply, tenses describe time. To be more specific, tenses describe the time when the ‘verb’ is happening. Verbs come in three tenses: past, present, and future. The past is used to describe things that have already happened. For example-yesterday, five years ago etc. The present tense is used to describe things that are happening right now, or things that are continuous. For example- it is happening future tense describes things that have yet to happen. For example – later, would happen, etc.
