Karnataka CET is a state level entrance examination for admissions into more than 270 colleges all around the state of Karnataka. Last year roughly 2,00,000 students participated in the annual test. KCET full form stands for Karnataka Common entrance test. The entrance is your gateway for admissions in the field of Medical, Technology and Engineering, Architecture, Farm Science and Pharmacy courses, in various colleges spread across the state of Karnataka. The dates for the test are not announced yet but they are just around the corner. The exam is the only gateway for students of the Karnataka states to get into good colleges in their state. However, the exam is deemed as fairly simple as the syllabus comprises of mostly the curriculum students have studied in previously in their class 11 and class 12.

KCET Application Form

To appear for the entrance exam the first and foremost step is to register for the test. The application process will commence from January 2019. Use your KCET login id and password if you haven’t registered before then get yourself registered at the KCET official website. After you have registered yourself then you are required to submit some credentials, which include your passport size photograph, left thumb impression along with the signature. These documents have to be submitted in the exact file size as mentioned on the KCET website. After you have submitted your credentials, then you have to submit the required fees to successfully submit the application.

Only the candidates who have successfully registered and paid the fees will be able to access Karnataka CET Admit card download link. Candidates can use their KCET login ID and password on the Karnataka CET official website using their application number and date of birth. The admit card would contain the following information, personal information of the candidate, exam applied for, designated centre and the Karnataka CET roll number. In case of any issues and errors on the admit card, the students should contact the official authorities and get the errors rectified.

KCET Eligibility for other state students

The eligibility for other state students is that, if the candidates have studied in the state of Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years only then they are eligible for the Karnataka CET. Eligibility for other state students also states that the students not from Karnataka can appear for COMEDK which is an entrance exam for Dental, medical and engineering. Karnataka CET Eligibility for other state students clearly states that you must have studied for 7 years in Karnataka.

KCET Syllabus

The KCET Syllabus is mostly based on what the students have already studied in the first and the second year of the syllabus prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. The exam is scheduled to take place in the second week of April 2019. It is an extensive exam as it takes place for two days in 4 shifts – On the first day; Biology and Mathematics and on the second, Physics and Chemistry. Please note that Karnataka CET syllabus weightage is same as the PUC year 1 and 2 syllabus weightage. The important chapters in your PUC are important for the entrance exam as well.

KCET Counselling

The Karnataka CET Counselling is conducted in both online and offline mode by the KEA. The counselling process will commence in the second week of June 2019. Throughout the counselling procedure, the qualified candidates will have to complete their document verification, followed by the registration, option entry and then seat allotment process to get admission into the participating colleges. In the Karnataka CET counselling procedure, candidates are called according to their merit and the preference of the college.

KCET Document Verification

The KCET verification for documents is a very crucial part of the counselling and admission process. In this round, the eligibility of the qualified candidates will be checked through documents. CET qualifiers are required to carry their documents to the notified Center and get their eligibility verified. Candidates who get through Document Verification round successfully are considered for seat allocation and admission procedure. Here are the documents required for the process.

  • Countersigned Study Certificate by the Concerned BEO/DDPI

  • Original Copy of the Chalan as proof of fee payment.

KCET Results

The KCET results will be announced in the month of May. The results will include the scores as per each subject and rank of the candidate. The candidates can, however, file out a review application if they feel like there have been errors in the checking of their papers. After the Karnatka common entrance test 2019 results have been declared candidates must wait for the cut off so as to get a rough idea about their admission chances based on the rank and marks they have scored. Then the candidates will be allotted seats in the counselling process based on their secured marks in the examination.
