JIPMER MS/MD Entrance Exam
JIPMER Postgraduate (PG) Entrance Test is conducted two times a year on the fourth Sunday of every May and November for determining the admissions to the 200 available seats with 100 being admitted during each session.
The candidate must meet the following requirements to be eligible for application :
- The candidate must be an Indian National/Overseas Citizen Of India. In case the candidate is a Foreign National, the candidate must route their application through the Indian Ministry Of Heath And Family Welfare and must seek prior permission from the Medical Council Of India.
- The candidate must have MBBS degree from any university recognized by the Medical Council Of India.
- The candidate must have completed the 12 months compulsory rotating internship/Practical training on/before 30th June 2018.

Application forms are available online on the official website www.jipmer.edu.in . Register and enter the requested information. Pay the Registration Fee through either Net Banking /using Credit /Debit Card. Registration Fees for the General/OCI/Sponsored /OBC candidates is Rs.16000. It is Rs.1200 for SC/ST candidates and Rs.3000 for Foreign Nationals. OPH Candidates are exempted from the Registration Fee. Then you can take a printout of the confirmation page which you can use for further reference. Application portal for the July session is now closed.
Hall Tickets/ Admit Card
Hall Tickets for the successfully applied candidates is made available online in the official website from 30th April, 2018(11:00a.m.). It carries the candidate’s name, date of birth, photograph, signature, examination city and Roll Number. It is mandatory to be brought to the examination hall. Keep it secure as hall tickets are required during your admission process.
The entrance exam is a Computer Based Test(CBT) that spans 3 hours conducted on 13th May, 2018 at 3 p.m. The question paper is set in English. The question paper has a total of 250 Multiple Choice Questions(MCQs) which are Objective Questions. The questions are divided into two parts namely, Basic Clinical Science with a total of 100 questions and Clinical Science with a total of 150 questions. Each correct answers will be given 4 marks. The penalty for wrong answers is 1 mark. There is no mark deducted for unattempted questions.

The Entrance Exam consists of 250 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each with 4 alternatives. The question paper has questions from the following two sections :
- Basic Clinical Science: This section has questions relating to such areas as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine, Toxicology and related areas.
- Clinical Science: This section has questions relating to such areas as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Community Medicine, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, Radiotherapy, Emergency Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Blood Transfusion Medicine and related areas.
Merit List and Cut- Off
The candidates must score a minimum of 50 percentile to be eligible for admission. It is 45 percentile for Unreserved OPH and 40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC/-OPH candidates. The candidates with this minimum score are considered to prepare the Merit List.
Results of JIPMER MS/MD Entrance Examination 2018 have been announced
The qualified candidates have to attend the Counseling session at the prescribed date, time and venue with the essential documents. Their biometric fingerprints, photo, and certificates will be verified. After the Counseling session, the candidates can opt or opt out their choice of discipline for study.
