Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test or more popularly known as IPU CET is a university level examination which happens annually for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate in Engineering, Law, Medical and Management. The exam is organized by GGSIPU. The CET is the only mode of admission for the courses offered by the university. The test is set with different set of questions for different disciplines.

Important Dates for IPU CET exam
The official dates for the IPU CET paper have not been officially released yet. However, it is expected that the GGSIPU CET would take place in the second week of May 2019. The registrations for the IPU CET 2019 will commence from February 2019 till the first week of May. Only after the registration process is complete, the IPU CET admit card is released on the official website, usually 4-5 days prior to the date of examination. Next comes the result which is expected to be declared in the fourth week of May 2019 followed by the commencement of the IPU CET counselling process in the second week of June. IPU CET Eligibility Criteria
Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test is conducted for admission to various UG and PG courses of different streams, the eligibility criteria for each course differs. So, there are some eligibility conditions which you should know about before filling the IPU CET application form:
- Nationality- Indian
- Minimum qualification for UG course- 10+2 board examination or equivalent exam
- Minimum qualification for PG course- Graduation
- Age limit for UG course- Not be more than 21 years or less than 18 years
IPU CET Application Form
The IPU CET Application form will be made available on the official only from February 2019 till May 2019. Please note that the form will only be available online that too on the official website. The Application form consists of some personal information along with the choice of CET you would like to register for which depends on the courses you would like to opt for.
Candidates should keep their important credentials such as an electronic copy of their signature, thumb impression, Aadhar Card and 10 class marksheet handy as these documents are necessary for the registration process. Do keep in mind that any changes in the course or CET choice would not be entertained once the form has been submitted with the required fees. Also, for rectification of any spelling mistake or such errors, the candidate must give a physical application along with the required fees. Note that, in case of any fraudulent activity regarding the documents, the admission will be forfeited, so, only present authentic documents.
IPU CET Admit Card
IPU CET Admit card is your identification card for the examination and can be downloaded from the official website. The card consists of your personal information and the information regarding the test. The candidates are supposed to take two copies of the IPU CET admit card and paste their passport size photographs on the designated slot on the admit card. One copy of the admit card will be submitted to the invigilator at the time of the examination and the other is to be retained by the student as it would have the invigilators signature on it, stating that you appeared for the exam.
At no point, the candidates should misplace or lose their admit card as admission will not be granted without it. Admit card is issued only 4 – 5 days prior the examination so students are advised to stay updated for the same as the designated examination center will be declared along with the admit card only, not before. IPU CET 2019 Syllabus
Many candidates appear for the test but they are unclear about the IPU CET syllabus. The syllabus is different for different streams and so is the exam pattern. However, the syllabus is fairly simple as it includes academic knowledge of upto 12 class only but for some courses, it can be a bit complex.
IPU CET Exam Pattern 2019
The IPU CET exam which is expected to be held in the fourth week of May 2019 is only conducted in the offline mode at the designated centers. Marking scheme of the exam consists of negative marking (-1) for each incorrect answer and +4 marks for each correct answer. Duration of the exam is usually three hours except for the B.Tech aspirants for whom the duration is two and a half hours. However, the number of questions remains the same for all the courses which is 150.

IPU CET Result
The IPU CET result is expected to be declared on the official website in the fourth week of May 2019. The result consists of a scorecard which contains all the section wise marks, roll number and the rank scored. Candidates, make sure that you save the scorecard as it would be required in the counselling process. The candidates can check the IPU CET result by following these steps:
- Visit the official website of IPU CET.
- Click on the link ‘Result’ link.
- Enter the course name, roll number and password.
- Click on ‘Submit’ button.
- IPU CET 2018 Result will be displayed.
IPU CET Cut off
The IPU CET cut off is the minimum rank required for admission in a specific college for a specific course. Each year three cut off list are released along with its implementation for the counselling procedure. The cut-offs are different for different categories and for different regions – Delhi or outside Delhi. The Candidates scoring the minimum marks as per the IPU cut off list, will be eligible for the IPU counselling procedure which will commence from the second week of June 2019. The cut off varies each year as it depends on many factors:
- The difficulty of the exam
- The number of the candidates applied for the ent
- Availability of seats under colleges affiliated to GGSIPU
- Maximum marks scored by the candidates
- Government policies and rules regarding relaxations for the reserved categories
IPU CET Counselling Procedure
The counselling procedure takes place in a number of rounds which is decided on the basis of availability of seats. The IPU CET counselling is expected to commence from the second or fourth week of June 2019. After the university publishes the merit list on the official website, then the candidates are called for counselling. Basically, in the IPU CET counselling procedure, the candidate has to select the college preferences and then according to the filled preferences and the cut off for those preferences, the seat is allocated to the candidate.

IPU CET Rank vs Marks
The difference between cut off and Rank is that, the rank is determined by the marks you score in the test out of 600. Rank is the position you have achieved out of the total number of candidates appeared for the test.
