Indian Statistical Institute Admission Test

The Indian Statistical Institute(ISI) Admission Test is a national level joint entrance exam organized by Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) to determine admissions to the various undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs offered by the various branches of the institute.

Eligibility Requirements

(I) For Undergraduate Programs

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent with Maths and English
B.Math
  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent with Maths and English

(II) For Postgraduate Programs

M.Stat
  • The candidate must have passed a 3-year degree program/B.E/B.Tech with Statistics as a subject OR B.Math from ISI OR a postgraduate diploma in Statistical Methods and Analytics form ISI.
M.Math
  • The candidate must have passed 3-year graduate in mathematics OR B.E./BTech with Mathematics as a subject OR B.Stat from ISI.
MS QE
  • The candidate must have passed the 12th-grade examination with Mathematics as a subject.
  • The candidate must be a graduate in any discipline.
MS QMS
  • The candidate must have passed a 3-year graduate degree with Mathematics as a subject OR B.E/B.Tech in any discipline.
MS LIS
  • The candidate must be a graduate in any discipline.
M.Tech CS
  • The candidate must have passed B.E/B.Tech OR must be a Postgraduate in ¬†Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Sci-ence/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology.
M.Tech CrS
  • The candidate must have passed B.E/B.Tech OR must be a Postgraduate in ¬†Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Electronic Sci-ence/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology.
M.Tech QROR (I) For Statistics stream

  • Tha candidate must be a Postgraduate in Statistics with Physics and Chemistry at the higher secondary level OR a postgraduate in Mathematics with Statistics as a subject at the undergraduate or postgraduate level and Physics and Chemistry at the higher secondary level.

(II) For Engineering Stream

  • The candidate must have passed B.E/B.Tech OR any other equivalent.

Application Procedure

(I) Documents Required

  • Digital copy of the candidate’s photograph (600pixels *600pixels with a maximum size of 50KB)
  • Candidate’s digital signature (800pixels*300pixels with a maximum size of 30KB)
  • Candidates belonging to the Reserved Category must submit the supporting authorized certificates.

(II) How to Apply

Register at the admission portal and create an account. Fill in the application form. Pay the application fee online using your application number and date of birth which can be done only after two days from the date of completion of the application form. The fee has to be paid online through Net banking/Credit/Debit Card or through Challan for cash payment at the SBI branch. The application fee for the different categories is as follows:

Admit Card for ISI Test

Admit Cards for the test carrying the registration number, the center of examination and codes of the tests to be taken in the forenoon and afternoon session can be downloaded tentatively by the second week of April 2019 by logging into your account. Applicants must take a printout of the Admit card.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The exam is conducted in two sections each of two-hour duration. The forenoon session shall be conducted from 10:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. and the afternoon session will be conducted from 02:00p.m. to 04:00p.m. The detailed pattern for the various programs is as given in the following table:

Results and Cut-off

The result of the admission test 2019 is expected to be published on the official website by the month of June 2019. Cut-off marks as announced by the institute will be published along with the result.

Counselling

The selected candidates are expected to attend the counselling sessions as per directed with the requested documents. They are expected to report at their assigned centers at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Students shortlisted after the personal interview should confirm their admission by paying the requisite fees.
