The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) would undergo a lot of changes from the year 2019. Two of the biggest changes are that the exam would be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) instead of CBSE. Another change, which is perhaps more important to a candidate, is that from 2019, the exam would be conducted twice a year. Important Changes in JEE Main 2019 – Change in Conducting Authority
As said before, from 2019, JEE Exam would be conducted by the National Testing Agency, instead of CBSE. The National Testing Agency was set up in 2017 and it is an independent organization responsible for conducting various exams like UGC-NET, NEET UG and others, apart from JEE Main. The Frequency of the Exam
Perhaps one of the biggest change in the JEE Main Exam is in the frequency of the exam. Earlier JEE Main was conducted only once. However, JEE Main 2019 would be conducted twice a year. In 2019, the exam dates would be in January and April.
A candidate can give the exam once or even both the times. If you fail to clear the exam in the first session, you can appear for in the second session. Even if you pass the first session, you can still appear in the second session to improve your score and get admitted in a better institute.

Other Important changes in JEE Main 2019
Apart from the ones mentioned above, some changes were proposed in the JEE Main 2019 to conduct the popular engineering entrance exam all over India. Changes related to Aadhar card mandatory, inclusion/exclusion of class 12th marks in considering JEE Main rank, exam pattern for JEE Main 2019, qualifications marks required in class 12th to appear for JEE Main 2019.
- Class 12th marks will not be included in considering JEE Main 2019 rank as per the announcement by the committee set up the IIT council along with HRD ministry.
- Earlier in JEE Main exam, there was 40% weight of marks scored by candidates in class 12 boards (State or respective) and 60% weight of marks scored in the JEE Main exam.
- Aspirants of JEE Main 2019 need to score 75% marks (65% for Reserved categories) in the qualifying exam or should be present in top 20% percentile in the respective board candidate appeared for.
- Aadhaar card is mandatory to apply for JEE Main 2019 while filling up application form for JEE 2019.
