IES 2018 Cutoff for Mains
Like the prelims, the official IES 2018 Cutoff for mains is not available. We would update the IES 2018 Cutoff for mains in this article as we get from official sources.
The cutoff of UPSC ESE for mains exam is calculated based on the marks for both the prelims and mains exam. The cutoff is determined out of 1100 marks that is 500 for preliminary exam and 600 for mains exam respectively. As per previous years’ analysis, the minimum qualifying marks for General, OBC, SC, and ST candidates were 20% while for physically handicapped candidates were 10%. This means, candidates belonging to general category OBC, ST and SC candidates have to secure 120 marks and PH category candidate have to score 60. However, the candidates have to score the overall cut off released by the commission discipline wise for each of the categories. The qualifying cut off may vary this year and the overall cut off for different category is decided by the commission.
Calculation of Mains Cut off
- Cutoff marks of mains exams = Preliminary marks (500) + Mains marks (600)
