IBPS SO Selection Process | IBPS SO Recruitment 2018


The IBPS would shortly release the notification for IBPS SO 2018. IBPS stands for  Institute of Banking Personnel and Services. The IBPS SO selection process can be divided into 3 stages. These 3 stages are written test (prelims and mains), interview and seat allotment. All the applicants who are appearing in IBPS SO 2018 exam need to qualify all 3 stages for selection.  Those applicants who qualify the IBPS SO 2018 exam are eligible for these positions

  • IT Officer (Officer-1)

IBPS SO Selection Process 2018

The IBPS SO 2018 selection process is same as other selection processes of IBPS exams. However, the applicants who would qualify for the exam will be eligible for SO position in 20 banks. A detailed explanation on IBPS SO 2018 is given below:

Written Test

The written test for the selection of Institute of Banking Personnel SO 2018 is divided into 2 parts -the prelims and the mains exam. The Prelims exam is common to everyone. It consists of questions from Quantitative ability, Logical reasoning and English. The Prelims have 100 question and the applicant needs to attend these 100 question in 60 mins. And every question is carries 1 mark and question distribution is as follow:

The applicant who qualifies the prelims exams are only eligible for the main exam. The main exam is different for different jobs. For example, the mains exam paper of IBPS SO IT officer will be different from the main exam paper of the HR officer (scale-1). Therefore for the ease of the applicants, we have mentioned the question distribution of the mains also.

Interview – IBPS SO Selection Process

All those applicants who have qualified the written exam are called for the interview. The minimum marks to qualify the interview is 40% for non-reserved category and 35% of the reserved category. And the aggregate marks of written test and interview is 4:1. Hence 80% of marks of written test 20% marks of the interview is chosen to create the final list of merit of the selected applicants. Also, keep a note that we advise you to take your identity card with you during the interview.

Final Seat Allotment

After the interview, a merit of the selected applicant is released. This merit is made of based on marks scored in the interview and the score of the interview also, on the basis of seats available. After considering all these parameters a list is released of the candidate. These candidates are selected, candidate. And they need to submit the final documentation, please note that if the candidate is failed to submit any document requested by IBPS SO officials are liable to be rejected.
