What is the Concept of Cutoff Marks?
The cut off in any examination is the minimum number of marks put forward by the competent authority for qualification. It is necessary for the candidate to score cutoff marks in each section. Overall, the cutoffs are based on an idea of consolidation. Basically, the candidates must score the cutoff in sections and the combination of all the sectional marks must be more than the cutoff prescribed for the concerned exam.

IBPS PO 2018 Selection Procedure
Candidates will be selected after going through three stages namely- Preliminary, Mains and Interview. Both the prelims and the mains exam are MCQ in nature. This means that you would be given a number of options for each question and you would need to select the right answer from the given options. You need to pass the prelims to appear for the mains.
