Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is an international-level computer adaptive standardized test organized and conducted several times a year by Graduate Management Admission Council in almost 650 centers across 114 nations to evaluate your fitness to the various graduate business programs including Masters in Business Administration(MBA) offered by institutes of international reputation and evaluates the candidate’s  analytical, writing, Verbal, Quantitative, and reading skills. The maximum number of attempts is five per year with a minimum of 16-days gap between two consecutive attempts.

Important Dates

There are no prescribed dates for GMAT. Candidates can attempt the exam as and when they need to. There must be a minimum of 16-days gap between two consecutive attempts and the total number of attempts made per year must not exceed five. The maximum number of attempts that can be made by a candidate is eight.

GMAT Eligibility Requirements

The following conditions must be met with to be eligible for application:

  • The candidate must of at least 18 years of age. Candidates having 13 to 17 years of age must have a written permission letter from their parents or local guardians.
  • The candidate must have graduation in any discipline from any recognized university or institution.

How to Apply for GMAT

Register online on the official website. Click on “Schedule a GMAT Exam” and create a user account by entering your personal and academic details. Now you can schedule, reschedule or cancel the GMAT exam through the following means:

  • Online: You can register online on the official website of the exam.
  • Phone: You can register via your phone by making a call to GMAT Customer Service in your region. But you have to pay US$10.
  • Postal Mail: You can fill the form available online on the official website and mail it along with your payment details.

A registration fee of GMAT is US$250 has to be paid.

GMAT Exam Pattern

GMAT is a standardized Computer Adaptive Test(CAT) spanning three-and-a-half hours including two optional breaks of 8 minutes. It consists of four separately timed sections. The detailed exam pattern is as given in the following table:

Exam Results

The candidate can access and download the unofficial result immediately after the exam and has options to accept and to decline the same. The GMAT Official result candidates are downloaded from your account on GMAT official website only after 20 working days from the examination date. The score is valid for 5 years.
