How is CMAT rank calculated?
The ranking is solely based on the score of the candidate. Rank is the position a candidate attains owing to his score out of the total number of candidates. If two or more candidates score similar marks ( out of 400) then the ranks would be given on the basis of section wise scores. The four sections are –
- Quantitative and Data Interpretation

- Language Comprehension
- General Awareness
How is CMAT percentile Calculated
Percentile is not the same as Rank or Score. The difference between CMAT score vs percentile is that score is the accumulation of section wise marks of the candidate. Whereas, the percentile is calculated on the basis of the rank of the candidate by using this simple formula.
Formula: Percentile P = ( (N- your rank)/ N) x 100
In this formula, P stands for percentile and N is the total number of candidates appeared for the CMAT.
After the CMAT Score Card is released the NTA will release a merit list which will be based on the score of the candidate. Please note that the CMAT Merit List will not be sent to any of the candidates via post. The merit list will only be sent on the registered E-mail address provided by the candidates at the time of registration.
Each of the CMAT participating college will release their CMAT cut off. The top CMAT institutes have a cut off as high as 95 percentile. Candidates, please note that the college will release the cut off in term of percentile unless mentioned otherwise by the college. Also, the candidates need to apply for the CMAT accepting colleges separately.
