CAT Registration Process – CAT 2018

The CAT registration process started on 8 August and ut concluded on 26 September 2018. However, the last date for the CAT application form was 19 September 2018 ut due to an exceptional amount of requests from the flood-hit areas the registrations were extended. The process was completed in the online mode only, which is a three-way process. First, you register with your email id and password, then you fill up the form by filling your personal details and then the last step is to pay the CAT exam fees.

Candidates need to register themselves on the CAT official website. After they have registered they will receive a User Id and password on the registered email Id. Then the candidates can log in to the website using their credentials. While filling the CAT form 2018 candidates have the option to select up to 4 exam centres as per their preference and they will be allotted one of them as per the availability

Also, the conducting IIM Calcutta gives the candidates a chance to re-upload their blurred or incorrect photos between September 27, 2018 (10 AM) to September 30, 2018 (5 PM).

CAT Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the CAT form the candidates are advised to check whether they are eligible or not. Here is the CAT Eligibility Criteria for CAT Exam registration.

  • Graduation in any discipline from any recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
  • 45% aggregate is required for SC, ST and PWD candidates.
  • Final year undergraduate’s students can also apply on a condition that they attain the degree with the requisite percentage of the stipulated schedule.

Scanned passport size photograph and signatures. The photo should not be more than six months old and must have a white background.

CAT Registration 2018 Process

The process for CAT online form is three-fold as it comprises of three steps to successfully fill the form.

Step 1 – CAT Registration ( Attaining User ID and Password)

Step 2 – Log in to CAT website using the generated User Id and Password

Step 3 – Filling the CAT Registration form and CAT Registration fee

Step 1 – CAT Registration

  • Go the CAT official website and click on the “New Candidate Registration”
  • Candidates who have already registered for the exam, click on ‘Registered Candidate Login’ to fill the application form.
  • Enter the required details – Name, phone number, Email Id and Date of Birth.
  • After filling the form click on generate OTP, then check the ‘I Agree’ box and click on the ‘Submit’ button to verify and authenticate your CAT registration.
  • Then, the candidates will receive their User Id and Password on the Email Id provided by the candidates.

Step 2 – Log in to CAT website

Now, log in to the official website using the generated User Id and password.

Step 3 – Filling the CAT Online Form

After logging in the personal details of the candidates will be displayed successfully then the candidates need to click on ‘Go to Application Form’ to fill the CAT 2018 online application form. The Application form is divided into 5 section and all the section are mandatory.

  • Programmes

  • Test City
  • Payment

After filling these details the candidates have to pay the registration fees which is Rs.1900 for the general category.

The gees can be paid by credit/ debit card, NetBanking etc.

After the successful completion of the CAT registration process and the submition of fees, the candidate receives an Email. The Email contains information about CAT exam and informaiton regarding the CAT Admit Card.
