ASRB National Eligibility Test – ASRB NET 2019

The ASRB National Eligibility Test, popular by the acronym ASRB NET – ASRB NET 2019, is a national-level standardized competitive test organized and conducted once every year by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board(ASRB) to screen candidates to the lecturer or assistant professor posts of the State Agricultural Universities or other Agricultural Universities of India.

Eligibility Requirements

The following conditions must be met with to be eligible for application to the  ASRB ARS:

(I) The candidate must be

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a citizen of Nepal, or
  • a citizen of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

(II) The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 1st January 2019. There is no prescribed upper age limitation.

(III) The candidate must be a Postgraduate in relevant disciplines from any recognized Universities.

Application Procedure

Documents Required:

  • Digital copy of the candidate’s recent passport size photograph taken against white background only, of a maximum size of 150 kB in .jpg  format only with the face covering at least 2/3rd of the total space and taken without spectacles.
  • Digital copy of the candidate’s signature taken in Black/Blue ink on a white paper only in .jpg format only.

How to Apply for ASRB Test

You can access the application form online from the prescribed date using the application link provided on the official website. Register by filling the required details including your full name, father’s name, gender, date of birth, category, the address for correspondence, permanent address, and email address. Click ‘Submit’ after ensuring that you have entered the right details. Login into your account using your registration number sent to your registered email ID and date of birth and fill out the application form by entering your educational details, and your preferred choice of examination centres, medium of examination, and disciplines. Click ‘Submit’ and you will be directed to a Declaration page. Read and sign the same. Now, click ‘Submit’ to proceed to the next stage of the application process. Pay the application fee as is given in the following table online via net banking/credit card/debit card.

Admit Card

The Admit Cards for the successfully registered candidates can be accessed by giving your registration number and date of birth from the official website. This, along with a photo ID proof and two passport-size photos must be brought to the examination center.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

This online exam is will have one paper with a total aggregate score of 150 marks. The maximum time allotted for this section is 2 hours. This section will have objective-type questions each carrying 1 mark. The question paper is set in English and Hindi. There will be a penalty of 1/3 marks for each of the wrongly answered questions.

Results and Cut-off

Results of ASRB NET 2019 will be declared tentatively by May third week 2019. You can access your results by entering your login credentials. Your score along with your status will be displayed.
