AEEE is conducted by Amrita university every year for admission to engineering programmes. It is conducted both in computer-based test and pen and paper test mode. AEEE 2019 will be conducted from 22 April to 26 April 2019. The application form for AEEE 2019 will be available in both online and offline mode. Through this entrance examination candidates can get admission into any of the four engineering g colleges of Amrita University. The four campuses are at Amritapuri, Coimbatore, Bangalore and Chennai. Let us take a look at AEEE Notification 2019.

These dates are tentative as all the dates have not yet been released by the university. These dates are based on previous year events.


For admission to B. Tech. courses candidates have to satisfy certain eligibility criteria fixed by the Amrita University. These are conditions which the candidate has to fulfil in order to be eligible for admission. Ineligible candidates will be rejected and cannot seek admission to the university. Candidates should have cleared their 10+2 examination (or equivalent) with minimum required marks. Otherwise, candidates will not be eligible.

It is important that the candidates read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the exam.

  1. Educational Qualification

   Candidate should have qualified 10+2 examination (or its equivalent).

Candidates who will be appearing for their 10+2 examinations in March 2018 and get the required minimum marks will also be eligible.

  1. Subject requirement

   Candidates must have studied physics, chemistry and mathematics in class 11and 12.

  1. Marks required

   Candidates should have secured an aggregate of 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics with not less than 55% in each of these subjects.

  1. Eligibility for applying through management quota

   The minimum eligibility for management quota is an aggregate of 80% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry.

  1. Age

   Those candidates who were born on or after 1 July 1997 are eligible for AEEE 2018.

  1. Foreign candidates

   NRI/PIO and foreign candidates are exempted from the entrance exam.

However, NRI candidates who are pursuing their class12 in India but has NRI parents can appear in the exam. The eligibility criteria for them are as follows :

  1. Age – candidates must be born on or after 1 July 1996.
  2. Educational qualifications (CBSE/ICSE)
  • candidate must have cleared class12 with an aggregate of 75% marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
  • Candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in each of the above subjects.
  1. Educational qualifications (State Board)
  • Candidates must have secured an aggregate of 80% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
  • Candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in each of the above subjects.
  • Candidates who have studied from a board other than CBSE/ICSE/State board should get A grade in A-level examination or its equivalent.
  • Candidates who have taken advanced placement courses will be given preference.
  • Candidates should carefully read the eligibility criteria before applying. All the documents of the candidate should show the details submitted by the candidate as he/she would later be asked to produce them for verification.


Online application

For applying online first the candidates have to register or sign in with a valid Email ID.

Following documents should be kept ready before initiating the online application :

  • Scanned/digital copy of recent passport size colour photograph(jpg/jpeg format, 3.5cm x 4.5cm)
  • Scanned signature of candidate(jpg/jpeg format, 3.5cm x 1.5cm)
  • Draw a rectangular box of size 1.5cm x 3.5cm on white paper.
  • Candidate needs to put the full signature with the black ballpoint pen in this box.
  • Scan this box by using a professional scanner.
  • Valid Email ID and mobile number for receiving emails and SMS from the university.

Online application involves three steps

  1. Registration
  2. Photo and signature upload
  3. Fee payment

1. Registration

  • Enter candidate’s name, date of birth, Email ID, mobile number, mode of examination, test centre address and submit.
  • After submitting data can be viewed and edited.
  • If details are correct then confirm it. Data cannot be edited after confirming.

2. Upload photo and signature

  • Upload candidate’s photograph and signature.
  • Proceed for payment

3. Fee payment

The application fee is Rs 1000 and it can be paid online through credit card/debit card/Net Banking or offline using a demand draft.

On receipt of the application fee, an Email will be sent to registered Email ID containing details of payment receipt and application confirmation.

   Offline application

OMR form purchase

  • Printed OMR application form can be purchased by paying Rs 1000 application fee at post offices and university counters at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore on producing a demand draft.
  • While filling the OMR application form, the candidate has to attach a passport size colour photograph. This photograph should NOT be attested.
  • Application form should be filled, after reading all the instructions, using a black ballpoint pen
  • Filled in application forms have to be submitted before 31 March 2018. Forms submitted after this will be rejected.
  • If more than one application form is submitted by a candidate, then his/her application is subject to rejection by the university.

Submission of an application does not mean that a seat has been allotted to the candidate. Admission to the university is based on the rank list released by the university.

AEEE Notification 2019: EXAM PATTERN

Knowledge of exam pattern allows candidates to have knowledge about the type and number of questions, marking scheme, mode of exam and time duration. There will be 100 questions in all – 40 from mathematics and 30 from physics and chemistry each. Each question carries 3 thee marks. Total marks from each section :

  1. Physics – 30
  2. Chemistry – 30
  3. Mathematics – 40

Calculation of marks :

  1. Correct answer – 3 marks will be rewarded
  2. Wrong answer – 1 mark will be deducted
  3. If no answer is marked, no marks will be given
  4. If more than one answer is marked, it will be treated as incorrect and 1 mark will be deducted.
  • Computer-based test will be conducted from 19 April to 22 April 2018 in different slots. Questions will be different in different slots.
  • The offline test will be conducted on 28 April 2018. Candidates will have to mark answers in printed OMR sheet with a ballpoint pen or HB pencil.
  • AEEE 2018 will be conducted across 96 cities in online mode, while offline mode will be conducted in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.
