Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University conducts the Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses. These B. Tech. courses are offered by four campuses at Amritapuri, Coimbatore, Bengaluru and Chennai under Amrita University. This entrance exam is conducted in both online(computer-based test) and offline mode(pen and paper-based). The exam will be conducted in April from 22 to 26 April. The application form will also be available in both online and offline mode. Candidates can start applying from October 2018 and the last date for application form submission is 20 April 2019. Admission to the university will be on the basis of ranks secured by candidates in the entrance exam. Let us take a look at AEEE eligibility criteria.

AEEE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

For admission to B. Tech. courses candidates have to satisfy certain AEEE eligibility criteria fixed by the Amrita University. These are conditions which the candidate has to fulfil in order to be eligible for admission. Ineligible candidates will be rejected and cannot seek admission to the university. The eligibility criteria include details like age, educational qualifications, marks required, and nationality of the candidate. Candidates should have cleared their 10+2 examination (or equivalent) with minimum required marks. Otherwise, candidates will not be eligible.

It is important that the candidates read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the exam.

  1. Educational Qualification

   Candidate should have qualified 10+2 examination (or its equivalent).

Candidates who will be appearing for their 10+2 examinations in March 2018 and get the required minimum marks will also be eligible.

  1. Subject requirement

   Candidates must have studied physics, chemistry and mathematics in class 11 and 12.

  1. Marks required

   Candidates should have secured an aggregate of 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics with not less than 55% in each of these subjects.

  1. Eligibility for applying through management quota

   The minimum eligibility for management quota is an aggregate of 80% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry.

  1. Age

   Those candidates who were born on or after 1 July 1998 are eligible for AEEE 2019.

  1. Foreign candidates

   NRI/PIO and foreign candidates are exempted from the entrance exam.

However, NRI candidates who are pursuing their class 12 in India but has NRI parents can appear in the exam. For them, eligibility criteria are as follows :

  • Age – candidates must be born on or after 1 July 1997.
  • Educational qualifications (CBSE/ICSE)
  • candidate must have cleared class12 with an aggregate of 75% marks in mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
  • Candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in each of the above subjects.
  • Educational qualifications (State Board)
  • Candidates must have secured an aggregate of 80% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
  • Candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in each of the above subjects.
  • Candidates who have studied from a board other than CBSE/ICSE/State board should get A grade in A-level examination or its equivalent.

Candidates who have taken advanced placement courses will be given preference.
